Weighing just 1,340g, this wheel is the dream of every cross-country racer who has only one thing on their mind: performance. Developed in collaboration with professional racers looking for a competitive edge in the World Cup or Olympic Games, it uses a 29" full-carbon rim (340g) to accelerate and climb quickly, without compromising stiffness or durability.
The special Adaptive Lay Up technique allows us to create carbon rims using less material between the spokes. The spoke holes are reinforced with strategically placed layers of carbon, reducing weight without compromising stiffness or durability. A lighter rim means faster acceleration, more efficient climbing and greater responsiveness. The outer carbon layer benefits from our new UD² design, which gives it a distinctive visual identity and improves durability.
Extensive field testing with our professional athletes enabled us to identify the most suitable inner width for fast and precise handling and optimum grip on fast race courses: 25 mm. For more technical terrain, some prefer a width of 30 mm, which offers better manoeuvrability. That is why we provide both options. The choice is yours and, if you want, you can combine the two options! For example, mount a Crossmax Ultimate 25 at the rear to improve acceleration and efficiency, and a Crossmax Ultmate 30 at the front to increase confidence and control on the toughest singletrack.
The carbon rim features 24 shrunken straight spokes (same spoke length all the way around), crossed in pairs for optimal power transfer and greater vertical flexibility. The new, lighter Infinity hub platform optimises lateral stiffness, while the spoking maximises power transfer. The Instant Drive 360 freewheel body, with its double ratchet system, provides quick engagement for more efficient acceleration out of corners. The rear hub is compatible with HG9, Micro Spline and SRAM XD freewheel bodies.
The Crossmax SL Ultimate 25 is only available in the 29" version, with 6-hole brake discs or Center Lock, and is compatible with a 15 x 110 front axle and a 12 x 148 rear axle. It comes complete with valves, spare spokes and MTB wheel bag.

QRM Auto bearing adjustment technology
Quality Mavic Auto bearings. These cartridge bearings are naturally double sealed, with C3 internal clearance. The system automatically adjusts to ensure perfect rotation without play in the long term.
Instant Drive 360 freewheel system
The new Instant Drive 360 freewheel system is ultra-light and efficient. A non-contacting, oversized rubber seal minimises friction and a wide choice of adapters makes it compatible with a wide range of frames and axles.
