Deity focused on a stable 800 mm width for a more efficient and aggressive position on the bike. To this end, an oversized platform with a 35 mm bore was used, and they opted to distribute the load over a width of 800 mm. The goal was to keep the weight low without sacrificing strength.
This is where Deity's unique Gradient Butting technology comes into its own, allowing excess material to be removed in the areas of lower stress and fatigue that can cause the stiff feeling commonly felt with other 35 mm handlebars on the market, and conversely, adding material in the areas of higher stress and fatigue to increase strength and long-term durability, giving riders more confidence to pursue new experiences.
