New Super Record 12x2 Speed crankset: a super concentrate of innovation to achieve the highest values of stiffness and shifting precision.

DESCRIPTION

New Super Record 12x2 Speed crankset: a super concentrate of innovation to achieve the highest values of stiffness and derailing precision and all in a dedicated and aerodynamic Super Design.
The new Super Record 12x2 Speed crankset, made of carbon fiber lightened inside thanks to Campagnolo's Hollow Technology, uses the Ultra-Torque locking system with titanium pivot to transfer to the drivetrain all the power impressed by the athlete on the pedals. The new Super Record 12x2 Speed crankset, can be mounted on all types of frames, regardless of whether they are for disc brakes or not because it optimizes the chain line on frames with 130, 135 or 142 millimeter rear stop without affecting the Q factor, which, thanks to the new crank design, remains at 145.5 millimeters.
The use of CULT ceramic bearings allows for the now famous smoothness that has become a Campagnolo trademark. The innovative design of the outer chainring, thanks in part to the shaped pin, ensures faster and quieter upshifting. The symmetrical tooth design of the inner chainring also allows for improved stability in chain crossings. The standard double gyro-bolts (112 and 145 millimeters) in combination with the 8 fastening screws, allows the optimization of weight and stiffness, thanks to the increased use of carbon fiber.
The different number of pins for each of the three chainring combinations (34/50, 36/52, 39/53) favors uphill shifting thanks to an optimized engagement for each combination. In addition, the special discharges inside the outer chainrings favor the occurrence of downshifting at the dead points of pedaling, optimizing performance.
New Super Record 12x2 Speed crankset: a super concentrate of innovation to achieve the highest values of stiffness and shifting precision.

TECHNOLOGIES

X.P.S.S. EXTREME PERFORMANCE SHIFTING SYSTEM
X.P.S.S. encapsulates a project born with a specific goal: to give Campagnolo's new 12-speed groupsets the best shifting possible.
And the Campy Tech Lab has once again hit the jackpot. The upshift and downshift zones on the chainrings have been studied in great detail by means of mathematical simulation programs that reproduce the possible movements of the chain on the chainrings and draw the ideal angles. Through repeated tests in the laboratory, the final optimization in speed and precision of shifting was achieved. The tooth profile of the chainrings was also revised to make their action even more effective and to be perfectly in tune with the 12 Speed chain and the new front derailleur.
All these improvements make it possible to increase shifting under stress by 25 percent and shifting fluidity by 20 percent. In fact, the secret of the amazing result comes from the perfect combination and integration of all drivetrain components: each one is designed to work and function perfectly with the others. Only in this way can you enjoy the extraordinary performance that the new X.P.S.S. system will give you.

MPS MICRO PRECISION SHIFTING SYSTEM
At Campagnolo, groupset performance is the goal to constantly pursue, for any product: from Super Record to Ekar. And the Micro Precision Shifting (M.P.S.) System mirrors this company philosophy exactly: absolute precision, speed and reduction of the space traveled for the chain to jump from one chainring to the next.
The machining at the outer chainring testifies to the maniacal attention to detail and the perseverance with which the Campy Tech Lab designers equally pursue maximum performance for all Campagnolo products.
The result is astonishing, and now changing chainrings even under stress will no longer be a problem!
The optimized design of the chain upshift and downshift zones and tooth profile allows fast and precise shifting under all conditions.

ULTRA-TORQUE
Lightness, rigidity, simplicity of assembly and maintenance: ultra-torque.
More than 10 years after its introduction, the ultra-torque axle continues to be recognized as the highest performing axle in terms of stiffness, lightness and efficient transmission of transmitted power.
Campagnolo has permanently constrained the bottom bracket axle shafts to their respective crankset arms. This redesign made it possible to significantly reduce the lateral bulk at the axle height, thus avoiding unwanted ankle contact during pedal rotation.
It is extremely simple to put into service; a single oversize screw makes the two semi-axles integral. This system can be safely compared, in the efficiency of torque transmission, to a pivot made in one piece.
Despite the narrow side profile, we were able to place the bearings on the outside of the frame housing, giving greater rigidity to the pivot, which in turn is increased in diameter.
These prerogatives were able to be achieved through the use of the Ultra-Torque, an ingenious mechanical system derived from long motoring experience in the area of axle and drive shaft couplings: the Hirth coupling.
It is, in essence, a self-centering, self-aligning front-tooth coupling that is placed centrally in the axis of the movement where the ends of the axle shafts integrated with the crank arms come into contact.
