HIGHLIGHTS

LIGHT AND AERODYNAMIC
The OSTRO VAM is an aero frame with disc brake that weighs only 830 g (painted, size 54, Flicker design). To achieve such a low weight Factor used the best materials, perfectly arranging the latest carbon materials to ensure low weight, responsive ride and long durability. It can easily be built below the UCI weight limit of 6.8 kg, which is unique among aerodynamic frames. This means that the benefits of aerodynamics are achieved without the usual weight penalty. Few rides or race routes are exclusively in the mountains or on flat roads, so naturally, you want it all: speed and lightness. The OSTRO is the ideal bike for being fast on any terrain.

EXCEPTIONAL COMFORT
As an aerodynamic racing bike that proved itself on the cobblestones of Paris-Roubaix, the OSTRO VAM will also be ideal for the roughest and longest roads. Its remarkably smooth ride is due to several factors. First, the choice of carbon fiber and lay-up combine to achieve a high level of frame flexibility without sacrificing power transfer efficiency. At the rear, ViSTA-style chainstays are designed to absorb road noise and dampen bumps. The ability to mount tires up to 32 mm wide only enhances the comfort-oriented design features of the OSTRO.

GEOMETRY AND VESTIBILITY
You can make a bike as light and aerodynamic as you want, but if the geometry is wrong, you won't enjoy riding it. To feel comfortable and have confidence in your riding, matching your style to the right geometry is essential. Like the O2 and O2 VAM, the OSTRO VAM is a pure racing bike, intended to get the rider into an aggressive position, and consequently all OSTRO VAMs share very similar geometries in all sizes. The standardization of geometries makes it easier to switch between bikes during races and will help you stay in your comfort zone for major events.

DESIGNED FOR SPEED
The goal was to create the lightest aero-oriented bike in the pro peloton. The OSTRO VAM is a bike that can be competitive on any terrain. It is ready to win sprints, conquer cobbled classics, and climb climbs with the best.

SLT BEARINGS
Close collaboration with CeramicSpeed in product development allows Factor to help find the best technical solutions for the most advanced racing bikes. Starting in June 2019, the FACTOR research and development team tested CeramicSpeed's SLT (Solid Lubrication Technology) bearings for the headset, providing their feedback in the development of the indestructible headset bearings that FACTOR bikes will employ from March 2021. SLT bearings have proven to be reliable and durable. They require no maintenance and are especially useful when combined with an integrated cockpit. SLT bearings solve the problem of headset maintenance for integrated cockpits, eliminating the need for it.

DETAILED AERODYNAMICS
Although aerodynamics and lightness are often the subject of a tug-of-war, the design of the OSTRO VAM ensures that these two essential characteristics both go in the same direction. In designing the OSTRO, Factor considered every aspect of the frame and applied the optimal aerodynamic profile, with a focus on transitions between frame sections and performance over a full range of effective wind angles. Tube profiles are derived from NACA (National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics) shapes, oriented along the waterline (horizontal) in line with airflow and optimized for ride quality and aerodynamic-weight balance.

FULL INTEGRATION
Black Inc's one-piece, aerodynamic handlebar reduces drag by meeting incoming airflow due to its clean shape. Fully internal wiring brings additional benefits, and Factor has achieved this by keeping a 1⅛" top headset bearing to optimize frontal area, whereas many other brands increase head tube size to accommodate internal wiring, negating the benefits. In addition, the introduction of CeramicSpeed SLT bearings eliminates the worry of headset maintenance.

ELECTRONIC REAR DERAILLEUR ONLY
In line with customer demands and to reduce aerodynamic drag and weight, the OSTRO VAM is built exclusively for electronic shifting groupsets.

FORK OFFSET BASED ON FRAMESIZE
Basing the fork offset on frame size ensures optimal handling characteristics for all frame sizes so that every customer has the best riding experience.

THREADED BOTTOM BRACKET T47
The T47 standard for threaded bottom brackets ensures secure mounting and easy maintenance. It allows a wide range of crank diameters to be used and helps keep the bottom bracket shell strong for exceptional power transfer.

SPACE FOR 32 MM TIRES
To improve comfort and take full advantage of the aerodynamic benefits offered by Black Inc's wide rims, the OSTRO VAM can accommodate tires up to 32 mm.
