Vectran
Vectran is a high-tech fiber produced synthetically from a natural pattern. Like spider silk, Vectran is a liquid crystalline polymer (LCP). Vectran is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and processed further to make a multi-strand yarn. Spider silk like Vectran has enormous tear strength at a very low weight: Exactly the right properties to be made into a high-quality Continental tire as a puncture protection insert. The Vectran Breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than the nylon breaker. The Vectran Breaker does not adversely affect rolling resistance.
