TECHNOLOGIES
PATENTED INTEGRATED SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY
The Genius features the patented Integrated Suspension Technology. This not only makes the bike look great, but also allows for improved suspension performance. Firstly, Scott is able to design frames with a lower centre of gravity, resulting in better handling and a more stable and safer ride for the end user. In addition, the frame is more rigid around the bottom bracket, which reduces unnecessary lateral movement relative to the shock stroke. Needless to say, the shock absorber is also protected from debris and weather, two of the main enemies to its performance.
EXTERNAL SAG INDICATOR
Setting the sag and checking how much travel you are using is as easy as never before with the new Genius. An external indicator on the linkage makes it easy to set the sag and identify how much travel is being used.
CABLESINTEGRATED INTO THE STERZO SERIES
The Genius has a redesigned Hixon cockpit from SYNCROS. Cable integration presented a number of problems, and the Hixon was also designed to solve them. SYNCROS designers worked on the shape to allow the cables to pass under the handlebars and around the sides of the stem before disappearing into the headset, with integrated plastic parts to keep the look clean and ensure efficiency. This prevents kinks or bends in the cables and provides a minimalist look. All Scott bike cockpits come with multiple mount options for cyclocomputers, lights and action cameras, either above or below the handlebars.
EASY ACCESS TO THE DAMPENER
With the all-new Genius, access to the patented integrated shock absorber is easier than ever. Simply push the button, remove the cover and access. From there, adjusting the return, air pressure, etc. is as simple as that.
Once finished, put the cover back on until you hear a click.
NUDE" SUSPENSION TECHNOLOGY
Shock absorbers with NUDE technology have been used on SCOTT full suspension bikes for almost two decades. Working closely with its suspension partners, Scott continues to improve this technology to give you the best possible support at all times, whether you're competing in the World Cup at the highest level, or out for a good day in the mountains.
TWINLOC SUSPENSION SYSTEM
With TwinLoc a rider can actually control the whole frame, fork and shock, as one element. Why does this matter? A bike with 150 mm suspension travel, correctly set up, has more sag than one with 130 mm. It's the additional travel that makes it more fun to ride and more agile on descents, the increased sag however has a negative effect on the bike's geometry and climbing performance. This is where the TwinLoc comes into play.
The TwinLoc helps manage the sag effect in a variety of ways. Most systems simply increase compression at low speed in an effort to gain pedalling efficiency. TwinLoc, on the other hand, not only allows us to change the compression damping, but also to change the progression curve of the spring, dynamically altering the geometry of the bike. In Trail mode, the shock is not only harder, but also has dynamically less travel. The bike remains higher, maintains a more upright seat angle for climbs and becomes more agile. We also offer a third mode, in full lockout, so that you can climb as efficiently as possible.
These unique settings optimise the climbing geometry even on bikes with the widest travel. We can eliminate the 'big travel effect', which takes away pedalling efficiency, but without taking away all the fun of the 150mm travel when descending. From a race setup, to a short ride on a break, to a trail ride after work: having the ability to change from mode to mode depending on the route taken with a simple lever is a guarantee of speed, performance and unbridled fun.
