The rechargeable lithium-ion battery consists of a 3-cell (12-volt) battery.
The charge duration of a battery varies slightly depending on the distances travelled and the riding style - more frequent changing puts more strain on the battery. The EPS Power Unit has been laboratory tested and guarantees more than 500 charges, with consistent performance and durability.
It is safe to say that the battery will last as long as your frame, if not longer.
PowerUnit Construction V4
The Power Unit contains a battery and circuit board in a sealed unit with a total length of 259 mm and a diameter of only 16.6 mm.
Compatible with seatpost mounting
Thanks to its small diameter (16.6 mm), the V4 Power Unit can be installed in the seatpost using one of the two optional adapters available for ø 27.2 or ø 31.6 mm.
Digital Tech Intelligence
The Digital Tech Intelligence is housed in the Power Unit and protected in the interface, transmitting, receiving and processing data thousands of times per second. An electronic brain that instantly synchronises all the functions required by the rider. All it takes is a simple click on the rear derailleur elements and the D.T.I. transmits the impulse to the rear or front derailleur with maximum speed, precision, and reliability, enabling performance and sensations that are simply not possible with a traditional rear derailleur groupset.
But that's not all:
the D.T.I. system also has the task of monitoring the rear derailleur groupset as a whole and each individual component
: constant control of the battery, its status and correct operation, and the operation of the rear and front derailleur.
On-Board Diagnostic - The EPS system is able to automatically detect a number of malfunctions.
If a malfunction is detected, the EPS system lights an RGB LED on the power unit. Depending on the area in which the malfunction was detected, the LED takes on a different colour, as shown below.
As the cause of the LED lighting up on the power unit may be temporary in some cases, it is suggested to the end customer what to do about the individual colours of the LED.
Waterproof - IP 67
The Campagnolo EPS electronic control unit complies with the IP67 international standard. This means that the system is able to protect its electronic components from dust and the ingress of liquids. To obtain the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system were subjected to a series of tests that confirmed perfect operation up to one metre under water for at least 30 minutes.
